CHAIRMAN’S
MESSAGE SUMMER 2006
The success of the SCLoS is causing problems
for our enemies and for us as well. Our
enemies have changed tactics in an effort to find something that works and we
must change tactics to become more successful.
Our news media enemies simply cannot devise a
campaign that will destroy the power and influence of the SCLoS. They have tried to reduce our effectiveness
by calling us a racist hate group. This
strategy failed, because they were confronted in every case and made to provide
equal coverage for our side of the issue.
They know we cannot be intimidated and they do not want to be
individually identified and singled out for special attention.
They changed from the attack mode to just
ignoring our existence. This technique
also failed because locally owned weekly print media, talk radio and a few
honest TV stations exposed their agenda to the public and the public reacted. The State newspaper was recently sold because
of low profits and others like the Greenville News are concerned about their
circulation.
The SCLoS organization and the Cayce Southern
Patriot Shop had excellent coverage recently. The latest being a documentary of
the Cayce store by Fox News. Most news
outlets are still ignoring us, but this will change with time.
The SCLoS was viciously attacked in its
formative stage, but our ranks continued to grow as more people became aware of
our existence. Our first response was
writing letters to newspaper editors, building a state chapter, developing a
web site to promote our agenda and forming the 1st South Carolina
Rangers as a support group.
The second response dealt with building a
statewide organization at the county level and formalizing our structure by
adopting Constitution and Bylaws. A
building in Abbeville was purchased for the sale of Southern merchandise and
members were invited to meet with other like-minded individuals at an annual
state conference. The attacks continued
and some of our members were fired from their jobs by politically correct
industries and institutions.
Our third response was fashioned around the
awareness that there was nothing we could do to make our enemies like us and
stop their attacks. We realized that
change would not occur unless we confronted our enemies in their environment
and that a paid professional staff was needed to get the job done. With this perception a plan of attack was
formulated to show that we were not going to be treated like second-class
citizens in our own land or in its simplest form; “We are not going to take it
anymore.”
From
this starting point we have: Appointed a SCLoS Director, Opened an internet
store, Picketed the NAACP at welcome centers to counteract their economic
boycott of South Carolina, at an out of state meeting in Augusta, GA, and at
the Martin Luther King holiday celebration at the State House, Met with
newspaper editors, TV station managers and others to protest coverage and
obtained op-ed columns and equal airtime, Supported political candidates for
local and state wide offices, Appointed a Director Southern Cultural Centre,
Picketed and helped defeat former governor David Beasley in his bid for a U. S.
Senate seat, Picketed Morris Dees of the Southern Poverty Law Center in
Montgomery AL and Columbia, SC, also handed out literature inside the building
at the Morris Dees meeting in Columbia, hanged Lincoln and Sherman in effigy on
the State House grounds in Columbia, opened a new store in Cayce, sold large
quantities of Southern merchandise at the Abbeville and Cayce stores and held
numerous events at the stores including book signings by our authors.
We also
expanded our influence by building coalitions with other groups, the South
Carolina Red Shirts were formed to honor the historical significance and the
role played by General Wade Hampton’s Red Shirts and we are now in the process
of breaking the second reconstruction period by taking our message to the people.
Robert Hayes was appointed Director of the
Southern Cultural Centre and our effort to develop Secession Hill has
accelerated. A brochure was published
for Secession Hill and advertisements were placed in two magazine. With your help we will provide a permanent
monument to our Confederate ancestors by building a Memorial Park on Secession
Hill in Abbeville, SC.
The fourth response is now underway and
includes doing what we have been doing, but with more participation and
dedication. We must neutralize our
enemies and turn them into friends if possible, network with other groups,
promote a Biblical world view, influence all governmental bodies (Freedom under
God’s Law), and make an economic and ethical appeal to the masses.
To be successful we must have a larger number
of dedicated individuals and a physical presence in the community. We have elected to start a training program
to show how dedication can produce results that benefits the individual and the
community. We have chosen to open Southern
Patriot Shops to show our symbols and promote Southern culture as it relates to
ordinary citizens.
The
success of the SCLoS has made our name a household word and secession is now a
socially acceptable topic of conversation.
We believe we will prevail if we can raise moderate sums of money, hire
a professional staff, train a large number of dedicated activist, open at least
20 Southern Patriots shops, and add other support media such as Radio stations,
Newspapers, TV stations, a Credit Union, and billboards. With this power base we will be able to form
more enduring coalitions, elect our members to public office, and encourage
churches to carry the gospel to the community.
Please review the last paragraph and give some
thought to the results that are likely to occur when each item is
implemented. Also give some thought as
to how you can be of more service.
Independence for South Carolina is our goal and God willing we will
prevail.
