Organisation - Officers
The
League of the South in South Carolina is organised with the South Carolina State
Office as the state wide governing authority. The State Chairman is James
Layden. Local organisations are organised in locations throughout the state and
their chairmen report to the State Chairman. A local organisation is formed when
a competent person is found who is willing to undertake chairman's duties in his
county. All County Chairmen are appointed by the State Chairman with the help
and advice of members in any given area.

Volunteers
are sought to lead county organisations in different areas across the state. If
you would like to either join a League County organisation in your area, or help
start one, please contact the
State Chairman via Email or snail mail at the South Carolina League address
given above.
The League of the South President,
Michael Hill, PhD, appoints the chairmen of the state organisations. As the
Chairman of the SCLoS, I appoint a Board of Directors (BoD), who meet quarterly
and assist in the oversight of the SCLoS. The SCLoS is incorporated in the
State of South Carolina as a Nonprofit Corporation.
I am seeking volunteers for the District Coordinator, County Chairmen and Staff
positions. SCLoS has two statewide events annually, our annual May celebration
of Confederate Memorial Day and our state conference in November near to the
date of the anniversary of the Secession Convention in Abbeville. The BoD has
developed a SCLoS constitution and by-laws. These documents detail the
responsibilities of the various SCLoS positions, state the purpose of the SCLoS,
and provide the organisational structure.
During my tenure, the thrust of the SCLoS will be to gain the freedom and
independence of the sovereign State of South Carolina. I am asking each Leaguer
to pledge himself to this goal, regardless of sacrifice. I ask your prayers,
talent, energy, and financial support.
