League Gov. Info.
In Dixie, Winning Is Our Only Option The South Carolina League Of The South Is Leading The Way

Letter to the South Carolina House and Senate:

Attached is a letter describing the South Carolina League of the South (SCLoS) position on three important issues.  We seek to advance the cultural, economic, political well-being and independence of all South
Carolinians by all honorable means.  Our members reside in every county in South Carolina and some 80% are college graduates and 10% have PhDs.  They are medical doctors, dentists, lawyers, teachers, engineers, business owners, and blue collar workers.

Your consideration of our position on these issues is appreciated.

Dear Governor Mark Sanford: House and Senate:

The South Carolina League of the South (SCLoS) is asking for your support on three legislative issues: abortion, government schools, and illegal immigration.  All three issues are important, but abortion is paramount as it concerns life and death.  We adamantly oppose allowing the murder of babies to continue in South Carolina.  The government school system is broken and beyond repair.  The school system as it exists today should be eliminated and parents given the responsibility to educate their children.  Illegal immigration in South Carolina is a crime committed against the people of our state and should be dealt with as any other criminal act.

The Republican Party can stop abortions, empower parents to educate their own children, and prevent illegal immigrants from taking up residence in South Carolina.  The Democratic Party can support each of these issues, as the majority of their constituency will support them.  It is time for both parties to represent the wishes of the people of South Carolina.

The SCLoS believes in government by the consent of the governed.  All politicians are elected to represent their constituency.  The people are adversely affected when party affiliation, racial groupings, economic pressure groups, big business, and big government in Washington, D.C. influence your vote.  I am asking you on behalf of the SCLoS to support our position on the three issues identified above.

For a free South Carolina,

James E. Layden

Chairman SCLoS
