For a recorded details and directions dial (803) 254-3433 A free showing of The Last Confederate will be held out of doors at the Hampton-Preston mansion located at 1615 Blanding St., in Columbia, on Saturday, June 2nd, at 8:30 pm. This is a journey through the psyche of a Southern captain in the waning days of the American Civil War. In an emotionally charged performance, Julian Adams portrays his great-great grandfather Robert Adams, a strong willed southern Captain, who used his guns and his heart of fire to rally his men to fight for their lands. Filled with passion, blood and tragedy, "The Last Confederate: The Story of Robert Adams" is the tumultuous true story of a man divided by love for country and for Eveline McCord, his beloved girl from the north. Produced and written by the descendents of Robert and Eveline, this is an explosive, richly detailed saga of fierce combat, honor and the will to risk all that's precious for love or country.

One of the "coordinators" of the event said that the Hampton-Preston mansion will be open for everyone to go in and take a tour. This will be free also. If you have never been through the mansion, try to come around 7:00 and take the tour, it will be worth your time. Also, make sure you come early enough to get a good place to sit....and bring a chair or blanket.
He also said that the vendors will be SELLING beer and wine, shrimp & grits and other sorts of good food.
He asked that Confederate flags not be brought to the movie. He was told by the city council that they didn't mind them showing the movie outside but requested that there be no confederate flags there. He said that they will have someone outside of the gate to turn around anyone holding the flag.
It hadn’t occurred to me to take a flag, but I will, of course, be wearing mine. If you wish to purchase a beautiful battle flag shirt to wear on those “special” occasions we carry them at the Cayce Southern Patriot Shop.
A number of reenactors plan to attend the show in uniform so bring your family with you and have an enjoyable evening out.
PS Note: While “passion, blood and tragedy” indicate high entertainment to opera lovers, they contraindicate viewing by young children. John McCain: “I promised to tell the truth always about my intentions and my beliefs.” This man wants to be President of the USA. "The Confederate flag is offensive in many, many ways as we all know ... It's a symbol of racism and slavery” "Personally, I see the battle flag as a symbol of heritage…" “I went down to South Carolina and said that the flag that was flying over the state capitol, which was a Confederate flag, was - that I shouldn't be involved in it, it was a state issue. It was an act of cowardice.” In 2000 John McCain came to South Carolina and declared that our flag stood for heritage. Then he lost the primary here. He flew back to South Carolina to declare our flag “offensive.” Now McCain is back asking for our vote once again. McCain has stated publicly on several occasions, "It came down to lying or losing," "I chose lying." This proves two things: 1. Mc Cain is a liar. 2. Mc Cain is insane.

Calling All Red Shirts On Monday 15 January 2007 the South Carolina League of the South will for the third year hold a protest rally in Columbia at the South side of the Capitol on Gervais Street. This Red Shirt rally will be held to protest the hate group, the NAACP, and their continuous attack on our noble Confederate flag and our wonderful Southern culture. We need all of our Red Shirts to join us at 10:00 AM and help us send a strong message to these hateful people and any of the cowardly politicians that might be inclined to lend them an ear. We will have plenty of flags and protest signs there for your use. Put the 15th of January on your calendar and help us give the hate mongers at the SPLC something to write about. Calling All Red Shirts
Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado) will be our guest at the Visa Room of the SC State Museum at 11:00 AM, Saturday September 9th. Barbecue will be furnished by Maurice Bessinger's Piggy Park. As you are aware, Congressman Tancredo has led the fight against illegal immigration in Congress. Join us at the State museum for two hours of vital information, fellowship, and good food. The cost of the ticket will cover admission into the museum.

Eighty Acres of Hell
The History Channel will premiere "Eighty Acres of Hell", the story of the Union's Camp Douglas where 6,000 Confederate troops perished, on Sunday, Jan 21st at 5PM Central Time.
"To the Victor, Belongs the Silence." Hidden until now, we uncover an important and shocking chapter of the War Between the States. Although our nation is well-versed about the atrocities committed against Union POWs at Andersonville, Georgia, few have heard of the wholesale annihilation of Confederate prisoners at Camp Douglas in Chicago, Illinois (12,000 inmates were incarcerated, 6,000 never left).
Unlike Andersonville, Camp Douglas had the resources necessary to house and care for its prisoners, but calculated cruelty, torture, and neglect by the US military conspired to exterminate Southern soldiers who entered this "80 Acres of Hell". But, Southern prisoners were not the only victims. Under martial law, prominent Chicago citizens were unjustly tried and imprisoned by a ruthless military tribunal. From 1862 to 1866, more than 6,000 Rebel prisoners and 14 civilians died at the hands of a corrupt and murderous system with tentacles to the White House". Carolina Stories - "JOLLY" A Documentary about a South Carolina Confederate, Manse Jolly. A native of Pendleton, SC, Jolly served as a cavalry scout for General JEB Stuart in the Army of Northern Virginia. He survived the war only to return home to radical reconstruction and martial law. The legend of his character and life story is the closest one in recorded history to that of "the Outlaw Josey Wales". Confederate Goliath by Edward Tyndall and Kenneth Price Experience the Fight for Fort Fisher! Late in 1864, during the intensity of the Civil War, Federal troops attacked Fort Fisher in Wilmington, North Carolina with a massive naval armada and hundreds of ground troops. The bloody battle that ensued resulted in the Civil War's heaviest naval bombardments. After the second battle, in January 1865, Fort Fisher finally fell. As a result, the port of Wilmington closed, cutting the vital supply line to General Lee's army (and three months later, Lee surrendered). Confederate Goliath is based on the award-winning book by Civil War historian, Rod Gragg.
